  • Hanohano Room at the Sheraton Waikiki - Spectacular view

  • Rainbow's Restaurant on Kapahulu Avenue - Fantastic plate lunches
  • Roy's Restaurant in Hawaii Kai - Pacific Rim Cuisine
  • Shogun Restaurant at the Pacific Beach Hotel - Excellent Japanese food
  • Zippy's in various parts of Oahu - Fast food, plate lunches. My favorites are their fried chicken and the best chili
  • International Market for shakes and plate lunches.
  • W Hotel -Great drinks and oysters
  • L&L Restaurant - Plate restaurant local good, cheap.
  • Restaurant Suntory -Japanese Sushi and Teppanyaki , slightly expensive but great poke.
  • Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar - Great Sushi, night club as well at location.
  • Boots and Kimos in Kailua -Amazing Banana Mac Nut Pancakes, Portuguese sausage links, great breakfast place away from Waikiki.
  • Ala Moana Shopping Center Makai Market -Has a ton of local style food and shake shops. Thirst Aid Station has fresh papaya, mango shakes for $3.00. Great flavors.
Sam Choy's Big Island - Kona side

  • Sam Choy's Kona Cuisine in Kailua Kona - Casual attire but fantastic food
  • Manago Hotel in Captain Cook - Famous for pork chops and fresh fish
  • Huggos in Kailua Kona - Excellent Seafood
  • Keei Cafe in Honaunau - In the boonies but very good food
  • Teshima's Restaurant in Honalo - The best Japanese food
  • Ocean View Restaurant in Kailau Kona town - Excellent and inexpensive with lots of local favorites
  • Super J's in Honaunau - Local Hawaiian style plate lunches
  • Kona Coast Macadamia Nut Factory in Honaunau - Best Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts
  • Low International Food - Delicious breads. Guava, Taro, Mango, Coconut, Passion Fruit, Banana etc
Big Island - Hilo Side Staff Favorites

  • Pescatore in Hilo town - Excellent Italian Food, excellent service
  • Harringtons - Romantic atmosphere
  • Ken's House of Pancakes - A local favorite.
  • Cafe 100 - Home of the original loco-moco
  • Two Ladies Kitchen - Mochi, a delicious Japanese rice treat. Go early they always sell out.
Kauai

  • Hamura in Lihue - Local hole in the wall with lots of local favorites. Famous for their Saimin The Beach House
  • Pacific Cafe at Kapaa Shopping Center - Pacific Rim cuisine
  • Beach House in Poipu - Pacific rim cuisine and seafood. Great view.
  • Bull Shed in Kapaa - Excellent steaks and prime rib
  • Green Gardens in Poipu - Good Chinese food. Excellent Lilikoi (passion fruit) pie
  • Dragon Inn in Kapaa - Good Chinese Food
  • Ono's Hawaiian Food at Kapaa Complex
  • Wailua Marina Restaurant - Great steaks and seafood. Their specialty is stuffed pork chops
  • Lemon Grass in Kapaa - Outstanding Asian food

  • Kapaa Fish and Chowder House
Maui

  • Baba Gumps in Lahaina - Fun seafood
  • Mama's Fish Houe in Paia - Pricy but very good

  • Kobe's Japanese Steak House in Lahaina - Excellent food
  • Lemon Grass - Asian food
  • Sam Sato's in Wailuku - Excellent Hawaii style plate lunches. Try dry mein
  • Tasty Crust in Wailuku - Another local favorite for plate lunches. Try their famous hotcakes any time of the day
  • Aloha Mixed Plate in Lahaina - Excellent Hawaii style plate lunches. Everything that I is good.
  • Simply Sweets bakery in Wailuku - Maui-Sadas, a Portuguese donut like treat with cream filing. Best eaten fresh at the bakery
  • Tasaka at Maui Mall in Kahului - Guri guri, a delicious frozen treat. Strawberry is my favorite
